Of Lodi, California!

New IKF Point Muay Thai Kickboxing Representatives
For Northern California

Terry Morgan

Susan Morgan

Long time martial artist Mr. Terry Morgan of Lodi California has been appointed the new IKF Point Muay Thai and Kickboxing Representative for Northern, California. He has been appointed by IKF / PKB World President Johnny Davis. Davis notes that, "Terry has been working with us for about three years as an official and has not only proven his commitment to the IKF / PKB but also has demonstrated his commitment to safety which is vital to our IKF / PKB semi contact" Point Muay Thai Kickboxing Program.

Terry has shown that he has great people skills but also knows how to keep control of the competition and adhering the IKF / PKB No Knockouts Rule. We are looking forward to Terry and his wife Susan's (Left) continuation of promoting the IKF / PKB tournaments in Northern, California. They will be reaching out to others to bring the division into their martial arts events and clubs as well as seeking those who may want to become an official. Please join me in congratulating both Terri and Susan for their new position."

Karate Circuit promoters like Mr. Jordan Pallen President of AMAPA, Mr. Darryl Liner of Sacramento, Mr. Julio Castro, Mr. Junior Merefuentas President of the California Black Belt League (CBBL) and Mr. Larry Hall of Reno, Nevada and others have already pledged their support to continue the IKF Point Muay Thai/ Kickboxing Divisions in their events.

IKF Point Muay Thai Kickboxing...
The Incubator for Future Champions!

Steve Fossum, IKF President

It happens every year...
A fighter who started his way in "Semi-Contact" IKF Point Kickboxing
goes on to win the IKF World Classic Tournament...

However, here's someone who not only won the 2012 IKF World Classic but last November, 2011, he took home the title at the 2011 IKF West Coast Classic!

Trevor Jones (Right) of Modesto, California, USA entered the West Coast Classic having NEVER competed in a Full Contact style event. His only experience was in IKF Point Kickboxing. In the opening round of the tournament on Saturday, Trevor defeated George Hofstetter of San Leandro, California, USA by unanimous decision, 30-27 on all 3 judges cards.

On Championship Sunday, he went on to defeated Samuel Decker of Mesa, Arizona, USA by unanimous decision, 29-28, 29-28 & 30-27 to take home the 2011 IKF West Coast Classic, Junior Boys Open Lightweight (76 Lbs. - 80 Lbs.) Muay Thai Rules Title for ages 11-12.

Excited over this title, Trevor went forward with an even bigger challenge. He entered the 2012 IKF World Classic this past July in Orlando, Florida. On Championship Sunday, he defeated Kaden Marlin of Arlington, Virginia by unanimous decision, 25-30, 30-25 and 30-26 to win the 2012 IKF World Classic Junior Boys Junior Middleweight (80 Lbs. - 84 Lbs.) International Rules Title for ages 11-12.

Jones now has two IKF Belts to be proud of, as well as set an example for other PKB Fighters to follow. While others around Trevor "Think" about being a Champion, Trevor not only "Talked The Talk", but he "Walked The Walk" not just once, but TWICE!

Congratulations to Trevor and his trainers, Miguel Duran (2011 WCC) and Bill Theofanopoulos (2012 WC). Winning an IKF Open Tournament title is something many fighters only dream of. However Trevor did it not once, but TWICE within a year having NEVER competed in any style of full contact fight sports!

Congratulations to IKF Point Kickboxing founder and President Johnny Davis!
Without his vision, passion and desire to help fighters of all ages take that first step into the world of full contact kickboxing, fighters like Trevor would not be wearing two IKF Gold Belts around his body!

RIGHT: Jones with all of his awards including the
IKF West Coast Championship Belt he won in November 2011 (Top Belt)
and his 2012 IKF World Classic Belt (Around his waist)

For those who have dreams of winning an IKF Amateur World Championship Tournament Title, get started training NOW!
You have a little more then 10 months to prepare for the 2013 IKF World Classic in Orlando Florida!

IKF Point Muay Thai / Kickboxing…
Returns to 2012 IKF World Classic!

Summer has arrived and so has the time to get registered for the 2012 IKF World Kickboxing Classic (July 20th, 21st and 22nd - Orlando, Florida, USA). This event is one of the most prestigious events for Amateur Kickboxing and Muay Thai in the world! Those who are "In the know" - know that this event is one that should not be missed especially by those serious about their future as well as adding the words of IKF World Classic Champion to their resume.

The ever-growing IKF Point Muay Thai / Kickboxing Division has been growing in leaps and bounds in the past few years at the World Classic. This year, several gyms are promising to bring out as many fighters as possible that will only make the tournament even better! As usual, we expect an even bigger group to enter for later registration this year, which is as late as Saturday, July 21st at 12:Noon.

The competition will start at 6:PM to be the evening entertainment on July 21st for the World Classic. Men, Women and Children as young as 5 years and up can compete, as long as there is someone in their division to fight. The action will be hot but of course as always, the semi contact rule is in full affect as there are NO KNOCKOUTS ALLOWED in IKF Point Muay Thai / Kickboxing.

There will be divisions in IKF/Point Muay Thai, International Hi Kick and International Low Kick styles. However, sometimes we have to mix and match to assure everyone coming gets a fair fight. Those who are planning to bring their fighters really need to know the difference in this competition and what will be going on in the main arena. The semi contact rules must be paramount. However, in saying this, we encourage you to use your speed instead of power and focus on the points and you will have a great time at this event! Moreover, BE IN SHAPE, the 2 – 2 minute rounds with 1 round of OT is in affect for this event. We will modify it for the Junior Fighters, but be in shape and ready to rock as these rounds seem a lot longer than it sounds on paper. Competitors will receive beautiful trophies and awards.

NEW LOCATION
This beautiful location is one that stands out and the luxury rooms and exciting scenery with places like Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios Orlando just a stone throw away, makes it a great location for such an event. Heck, planning your family's vacation around the tourney at this wonderful location is not a bad idea!

In addition to semi contact, The IKF World Classic will again have the best divisions of Full Contact bouts with divisions in Muay Thai, International Hi Kick (Full Contact Rules) and International Low Kick styles. Well over 200 fighters will travel afar to prove one thing…they are the best!

By request of several trainers, this will also be the first year the IKF World Classic will have a Novice Division. This division was successful at the IKF West Coast Classic this past November, 2011, so the IKF is trying it out for the World Classic.

However, the IKF World Classic Championship "BELTS" will ONLY be awarded to fighters in the "OPEN" Divisions... This is where Only "THE BEST" will compete and Only The BEST will Win an IKF World Classic Belt!

Some will come with an illusion of greatness and others will come with a vision for victory but either way, their destiny will need to be decided in the ring! When you get a ton of fighters, trainers and pumped up fans in one room hungry for a fight and hungry for a win…its going to be a lot of fireworks going off even if the 4th of July has past! We look forward to seeing your there! Remember, Register Early and Save! Forward March!

For more information on IKF Point Muay Thai / Kickboxing you can contact Johnny Davis at johnnyd@akpromotions.org or at (916) 205-4762. For more info on IKF Point Muay Thai / Kickboxing go to www.IKFPKB.com

PKB JUDGES...
Thanks in advance for those that would like to volunteer some time to assist with judging some matches for the PKB Tournament. You must be a practicing Kickboxer with at least 4 years experience or a Black Belt Martial artist. You would also have to attend the rules meeting on Friday, July 20th.

SEE YOU IN ORLANDO!
